Experience & Philosophy

Evan began his legal career in real estate litigation for a top Philadelphia law firm and quickly realized a preference for transactional work. Moving back to his roots in New Jersey, Evan spent the next several years working for two of the largest and most respected law firms in New Jersey. Evan's legal and real estate experience further evolved as general counsel for a major regional development and construction company operating in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Evan's in-house work included overseeing legal affairs, participating in business decisions, negotiating documents, and closing all purchase, sale, lease, and finance transactions, project management, obtaining approvals and permits, and construction contracting.

Evan's legal philosophy melds the best attributes from his professional experience by negotiating all deal points in a professional, effective manner and providing the highest level of technical legal representation, while never losing focus on the ultimate business objective and core concerns of the client.


Evan's core expertise lies in buying, selling, leasing and financing properties, and counseling clients with regard to entity formation and joint venture structuring.  Evan also has experience in various construction, mezzanine and permanent financing, construction contracting, land use law, redevelopment agreements, tax abatements, Brownfield's redevelopment, environmental due diligence and analysis, governmental incentives, green and LEED construction practices, tax deferred exchanges, ground leases, and property tax appeals.

Representative Transactions:

  • Negotiated and closed land acquisition, complex tax and joint venture structure, financings, and contract for a forward sale to Blackrock consisting of a 585,000 square foot state of the art warehouse distribution center in South Brunswick, NJ.
  • Managed acquisition, financing, and extensive NJDEP and municipal permitting for a major land fill redevelopment project in Edison, NJ.
  • Completed permitting and sale to Morgan Stanley of an approximately 350,000 square foot data center site in Franklin Township, NJ.
  • Coordinated all legal aspects of a 124 acre industrial park subdivision in Forks Township, PA.
  • Member of legal team representing an institutional investor in due diligence analysis and acquisition of one of the largest Jersey City office towers.
  • Assisted large New Jersey based developer in acquisition of apartment portfolio consisting of more than 8,000 units within 42 properties located in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
